The New Victoria Hospital Glasgow

About

COVID-19 has left many buildings lying dormant, most notably office and retail space. These recent empty spaces have joined the ranks of many long-abandoned and overlooked buildings in Glasgow. The artists featured in each route have created audio and visual artwork prompted by these forgotten spaces and devised for audiences to experience during a walk around the city.

To a Passer-by is both a response to the sense of vacancy felt within the city, which has been amplified by the current uncertainty between lockdowns, and the growing desire to engage with our local surroundings in whatever way we can. Although this series of routes is intended to be experienced independently, whether that be alone or within a household group, we want to create a community through the shared experience.

This is a project curated by Cait Heaney, Holly O'Brien and Agni Roussou.
